At Woods Environmental Services (WES) we believe a healthy environment is critical in ensuring we live in healthy and sustainable communities. WES knows that maintaining balanced ecosystems and restoring damaged or neglected landscapes benefits land owners with improved water quality and diversity of wildlife. We supply our clients with the highest level of service and promote a safe work place. We are specialists in the field of Natural Resource Management as well as having a civil team capable of delivering soft and hard engineering solutions.

About Us
WES has been in operation for over 20 years and employs over 40 staff across two depots. Our head office which is located in Woori Yallock in the Yarra Valley services Melbourne’s Northern, Eastern and Southern regions with our Altona depot servicing clients in Melbourne’s West. During peak work times (~October through May) we also employ approximately 30 casual staff to ensure client’s needs are met.

Our People
Our workforce is made up of specialists in Natural Resource Management with Bachelor degrees and/or diploma’s in various disciplines of the field and/or many years of industry experience. They are passionate about the industry they work in and take pride in achieving positive outcomes for clients and the environment alike.
At a minimum, all staff at WES hold a current level 2 first aid certificate, ACUP/Chemcert, Red/White card, chainsaw and manual handling. Most staff hold other more specific licences such as but not limited to Advanced 4WD, remote 1st aid, Tree Felling, Wildfire Suppression and IRATA trained ropes crew.
WES has employed staff based on their skills set, reputation, aptitude and knowledge of Bushland rehabilitation, restoration and retention, including excellent plant identification skills and an understanding of herbicide selection and application.
Given the wide ranges of skills and experience within our organisation we are in the fortunate position to be able to select the most appropriate staff based on the required skills and for any given task.
Enviro Crew
Our Enviro Crew undertake a variety of projects on all scales and complexity; From large scale weed control and revegetation in suburban areas, remote access works where the right equipment and staff are essential, to hand weeding in sensitive riparian areas.

Civil Crew
Our Civil crew undertake a variety of construction activities including concreting, metal work fabrication and installation, retaining wall construction as well as soft engineering approaches to stream rehab, erosion control, fish ladders, rock chutes, wetland construction and desilting. We also offside the Enviro Crew with Large scale tree and Woody Weed removal works

All of our project services listed above are able to be offered as ‘design and construct’ by our suitably qualified staff including Bachelors in Applied Science (NRM), Environmental Science – Catchment Management and Environmental Engineering.
