Grasmere Creek, Berwick is a heavily incised creek running through both residential, agricultural land and land managed by Parks Victoria. Melbourne water requirements were to improve the condition, extent and connectivity of both instream and riparian vegetation.
Aquatic habitat improvement was of the highest priority due to the presence of the EPBC listed Dwarf Galaxia. Works performed to achieve this outcome were woody weed removal including ropes work, herbaceous weed control, aquatic planting and terrestrial revegetation.
